DC Duck Race and Festival Volunteer Roles
Duck Festival Setup
Volunteers are needed to assist with setting up the event. This will include putting up signage, moving tables, and chairs and more.
Race Day Logistics
Volunteers are needed to help with information, directions to the DC Duck Festival, last-minute duck set-up, help with children section, guarding the official race ducks, and more.
Duck Race Routers
Volunteers are needed to help the ducks navigate through the Duck Race path in the Anacostia. Duck Routers will be positioned on a boat or in a kayak. Although we do not anticipate anyone entering the Anacostia, we ask that all volunteers have the ability to swim.
Volunteers are needed to help get the ducks out of the river, back into their crates, and bringing them to the “Duck Wash”. This will take place at the finish line of the race.
Volunteers are needed to wash the ducks so that they are clean prior to storing them. Rain gear will be provided.
Volunteers will help take down signs and tables, empty trash receptacles, etc.
